Importance of sleep
Many factors contribute to muscle growth and one such is sleep.
Proper sleep is often overlooked as a crucial factor when it comes to maximising muscle gains.
Let's take a look at How sleep affects muscle growth?
Human growth hormone(HGH), is one of the primary compounds that promote growth and repair of muscle tissues. HGH is largely secreted when the body is in the highest stage of sleeping cycle or generally Deep sleep.
Sleep-deprived often leads to emotional imbalance, or at most times leads to the secretion of Cortisol also referred as the stress hormone, which in turn hinders muscle growth.
Some times lack of proper sleep can cause physical imbalance, like metabolism problems, gastrointestinal problems and many other which are subjective, can also affect muscle growth or even promote muscle loss.
Generally, it is advised to take proper sleep ranging between 6-8 hours, under ideal sleeping conditions, to promote overall well being and muscle growth as well.
